The Bighorn River Fly Fisher offers a fleet of new 2009 Hyde Drift Boats and Skiffs for your use while navigating and fly fishing the placid waters of the Bighorn River. This river is great for beginners to learn how to row a drift boat as it’s fairly calm waters provide a gentle introduction to what is needed to row a drift boat and allow you to fly fish the entire Bighorn River very easily as your boat safely transports you.
The drift boats we rent are Hyde Contenders. They are a 16’ Mackenzie style drift boat with a medium profile and ample room for up to four, but ideally three fly fishermen. Front, mid, and rear storage boxes provide room for extra gear. If you’ve never rowed a contender you will be very happy on its shape layout and great maneuverability.
The skiffs we rent are the brand new for 2009 Hyde Rocky Mountain Skiff. These are larger than your traditional skiff at a length of 16’ it provides plenty of room for three anglers and its narrow footprint makes for an extremely light and very quick boat.
We put the boat in the water for you and take it out, so there is no need for any sort of boat loading or trailering. Your car is moved while you are on the water so it is waiting for you at the take out.
The rate is $125 per day and that includes the shuttle of your car and the transportation of the boat.
